Sigrid Lankau-Kubitz

About the Artist

Sigrid Lankau-Kubitz is a German-Australian who was born in 1939. In later years she became a qualified nurse and worked for many years in operating-rooms in Germany, USA and West Africa before studying at the State Academy of Fine Art in the city of Karlsruhe in Germany.

Much of her working life was dedicated to her nursing career, her husband and two children, but art has certainly been a passion that has followed her throughout adulthood.

Sigrid’s art career includes 16 solo exhibitions and 47 selected international group exhibitions in countries such as Japan, Korea, Brazil, the United States and various European countries. Much of her artwork is further mentioned in newspapers, journals, books and catalogues around the world.

In later years, Sigrid branched into authoring and publishing books and decided to create this webpage to document at least a small portion of her collection. Many works were sold or given to institutions prior to them being captured digitally. Hopefully you enjoy a glimpse into her life as an artist and you can find out more about her career by clicking on the below link.
